Lavergne’s Tavern

When an old tavern closed in downtown Berwyn, a creative restauranteur living in the neighborhood saw the opportunity for preserving and reinterpreting its legacy as a new destination, Lavergne’s Tavern, named after one of the town’s nineteenth century subdivisions.

For the interior design, Bauer Latoza Studio captured the historical essence of the neighborhood with modern adaptations of period millwork, wallcoverings, lighting fixtures and artwork. The design strikes a balance that appeals to older patrons who felt comfortable at the former establishment, and to younger residents seeking a stylish but comfortable environment that feels right for brunch, an afternoon game, or dinner.
