Chicago Cultural Center Facade Inspection

In accordance with the City of Chicago’s Exterior Wall Maintenance Ordinance, Bauer Latoza Studio conducted a Critical Examination of the exterior of the Chicago Cultural Center. The examination was conducted with the use of 100-foot boom lifts, necessitating a traffic lane closure on Michigan Avenue. Due to this obstruction, the inspection had to be conducted over the abbreviated schedule of only one Saturday morning. The primary purpose of the up-close review was to document the specific conditions of the exterior limestone masonry of the building. In addition, during the course of the examination, any potential loose material was removed or stabilized before moving on to the next area. The on-site examination of the building was followed with a comprehensive report documenting findings and providing recommendations for future work.
