The Village of Lemont was awarded a grant by the Regiional Transportation Authority (RTA) to develop a Transit Oriented Development (TOD) Planning Study. The URS Corporation/BauerLatoza Studio team was retained to study four major areras in the TOD district which included Transportation, Brownfields, Economic Development and Historic Preservation. The Planning Study will be used to begin implementation of the overall master plan for development along the historic Illinois Michigan (I&M) Canal, downtown central business and existing brownfields. Future vehicular, bicycle, pedestrian and rail transportation amenity needs were reviewed in relation to the TOD area.
