BauerLatoza Studio was commissioned to perform the critical examinations of selected School of the Art Institute of Chicago high-rise properties within the downtown area. This work is required by the City of Chicago’s Exterior Wall Maintenance Ordinance but it also provides a valuable planning tool for the building owner. The critical examinations consist of a hands-on inspection of 100% of the terra cotta-clad facades and 50% of the non-terra cotta facades. Exams are conducted using swing stage drops and include various inspection openings.
