Morgan Shoal at Burnham Park
Chicago, Illinois
Client: City of Chicago Department of the Environment, Chicago Park District & Montgomery Watson Harza Engineering
Cost: $42,000,000
BauerLatoza Studio designed an innovative natural area within a portion of Burnham Park between 45th and 51st Street on Chicago’s south lakefront. The environmental experience developed in the park capitalizes on the unique opportunity presented by the shallow bedrock in this area of Lake Michigan known as the Morgan Shoal. The design will expand the parkland by 30 acres by adding fill to Lake Michigan.
