Chicago Public Schools AOR

Chicago, Illinois

Client: Chicago Public Schools

Cost: $ 125,000,.000 +

In 1995, Mayor Richard Daley launched what is now a nationally renowned overhaul of the City’s public school system. Central to the success of that reform was a capital improvement program valued at more than $2 billion. BauerLatoza Studio was selected as one of six A&E firms to serve as Managing Architect.

Initial work focused on exterior facade renovation and restoration, roof replacements, and lighting upgrades. Subsequent work centered on total rehabilitation of the interiors of the schools, integration of new MEP and computer systems, barrier free access and site work.
